Discipleship is the normal process for anyone who believes in Jesus. As with any process, it is helpful to
know where you are and what your next step should be. Often in the process we feel stuck and don’t know what
step to take next. Here is a helpful process we use to direct us on our journey.
Connect (Luke 19:10; Acts 4:12; John 15:1-8)
The first step is all about connecting. First of all, connecting with Jesus. He is the only one who can save you from your sins. He
is the one who made the way for us to have our sins forgiven and have our relationship with God restored from the
effects of sin.
Not only do we want to connect you to Jesus, but was also want to help you connect with other believers. It is important to be connected
with others believers for support. These relationships are vital to a growing faith.
Grow (1 Peter 2:2-3; 2 Peter 1:3-11; Galatians 5:22-23)
It all starts with a connection, but the process continues with a focus on growing. Just like we have all grown physically from the time
we were born until today, spiritual growth is the norm as well. Unlike physical growth, sometimes spiritual growth
is harder to chart. One way to grow is by putting yourself in the right environments.
If Sunday morning worship is the first step, then one of our class opportunities would provide a next step to take. We have both Sunday
Morning, Sunday Evening and Wednesday Evening options. Feel free to try out any of the different classes to find
one where you can best connect and grow.
Serve (Matthew 25:31-46; James 2:14-17; Colossians 3:17)
It has been said that “Impression without Expression leads to Depression.” If we spend all of our time learning and
growing, but find no time or means to put what we know into action we may find ourselves discontent. We seek to offer
many opportunities for service, both in the church and in our community. We seek to be the “hands and feet of Jesus”
as we share the love of Jesus as we go about our way.
